A wedding party enjoys the Peņa-Peck House garden
The Woman's Exchange is known for its cooking and members are certified by the state of Florida as Serve Safe food handlers and food managers. Our commercial kitchen is inspected regularly by the Florida Department of Health and meets and exceeds all standards. Catering is available by The Exchange or by a limited number of outside caterers authorized by The Exchange. Under the auspices of the city of St. Augustine's liquor-consumption permit, the Exchange allows alcoholic beverages on the site but the bartender(s) must be hired by the contractor for the event. We can assist you in obtaining a bartender(s).

Events may be scheduled year-round indoors and in the garden from September through May. There are certain times around holidays when the Exchange may not be available but please call us to see if we can make arrangements to suit your need.

The garden:

The graceful garden holds its color year round and offers a spacious setting among oaks and palms and various plantings.

Archways border the garden
The garden is a wonder-filled place where wedding ceremonies are popular year round and it can accommodate up to 125 people. The garden is maintained by the members of the garden committee of The Woman's Exchange.

In addition, there is a spacious loggia for additional tables for serving as well as a beverage bar. Restrooms are off the loggia.

Should you choose for your event to be held indoors, the downstairs rooms offer an attractive setting, each with period furnishings, primarily from the era of Dr. Seth Peck and his wife Sarah Lay Peck and their descendants, from 1837 to 1931. Too, the house was the home of the Spanish Royal Treasurer from circa 1750 to 1763. It also was the home of two governors during the British period, 1763 to 1784.

    The dining room:

Small dinners for 30 can be accommodated in the elegant dining room.

    The museum room:

The larger museum room can accommodate up to 50 at tables for six or eight.

    The old kitchen:

The old kitchen is one of the finest rooms of coquina that is preserved in the city of St. Augustine.

The old kitchen
Here you will see coquina in its golden color, the actual color of coquina, preserved from the outdoor elements. The old kitchen can seat 18 at small and large tables.

Because Florida weather is unpredictable at times, we recommend the rental of a tent for your outside event. Most bridal couples opt not to have a tent for wedding-only events.

Our prices cover the property rental, food, tables, chairs, flatware, china including coffee cups, punch cups and beverage glasses for non-alcoholic drinks, most serving pieces, and all linens. Barware, including glasses for alcoholic beverages, must be provided by the event contractor.

The Woman's Exchange will work with you and your coordinator to make your event a lasting memory.

Call 904-829-5064 and make an appointment to meet with our special events coordinators and tour the site.
